New Feature: Batch Remote Launch! What does it mean for you?
A new backend feature isn’t something I’d normally write about, but this one is actually quite exciting for improving our customers’ experience… batch launching means we can now quickly switch a group of people from one game to the next all at the same time!
Even though we already had a pretty good system for remote launching games from the reception PC, it was a somewhat tedious process of selecting one VR station at a time, selecting the game, and selecting launch …and not going too fast so the network doesn’t get mixed messages! While this old method was definitely better than physically running from one station to the next to use a keyboard/mouse, it still needed improvement.
Now we can launch any number of stations into a game together at the same time. This is especially cool for games where players will see each other as soon as it finishes loading, such as Rec Room (using the method I devised to streamline it). No more wondering if the person you’re playing with is still searching for the game in the menu or loading up while you’re waiting ready to start in the game.
Here’s a video demonstrating the new feature in action. This will be fantastic for parties!
